Hi all. Wonderful news. Our MEMBER, Jan James has launched her
website - the 'Avon Valley Collection'. URL is
http://www.geocities.com/avonvalleycollection/

On the site, you'll find the start of an index to the collection. At
the moment, the records listed there are mainly deaths, but Jan is
adding daily to the overall collection and will update the index file
from time to time.

When I was a little girl, we sat around the open fire and told stories. I can still feel the excitement, the sadness , the love, that came from those times sitting on my mothers knee around the fire. There were ten children in my family ( most are gone now)Mum told stories about ouI history . About my Nanna's cow "Laura"about how she spread grain for the chickens in such a lady like manner and how whilst she was doing that she would bend down, grab one of the unsuspecting chickens and ring it's neck for grandads tea. I always wanted to write the stories down but I couldn't spell and I didn't know where the comma's went. I didn't want to tell people so I kept it all in side. When I became a Christian, I thought that is pride. Once I read the verse Ï can do all things through Christ who strengthens, I was up and away. I found a friend to correct the spelling. I read my stories out loud to her and she put the full stops & commas in. The result was my first book " In Search of Elizabeth", the story of the life of my Gypsyies in Western Australia. It is one of 10 books now. When I got my first computer and discovered the Thesaraus and the spell check, I never looked back and I can tell you that ,I never write a letter or a book without those tools because This is the day that the Lord has made" for me- Jan
