| rackli1 rackli1 | I was born a Gypsy in 1951. Times were hard. We were often persecuted and shunned as we travelled around trying to make a living for the family (father, mother and 7 siblings). We lived in tents and caravans, myself the youngest son, brought home as a baby to a horse drawn wagon in the 1950's. In the 1960's I had very little schooling as I had to work on the land with my family. In the early 1970's, I married a local (non-gypsy) girl and settled down. Although over the next 19 years I had 4 children I not what you’d call a family man. I worked hard, earnt big money - and drank most of it. I was out most nights, drinking, fighting, and then drinking some more. I then learnt that I could earn more money by working away from home, so off I went, each week sending home some money but drinking the rest. I was rarely sober, but in 1990 I decided to return home and got a job in the local cider company - drinkers paradise! About a year later l returned home from night shift In find my wife and 4 children gone. The house was nearly stripped bare, and looked like nobody had lived there. I went to pieces, couldn't drink, and consequently sobered up. I was devastated to find that my wife hadn't paid the bills, and by the time the Police came to arrest me for non-payment I was £6,500 in debt. Luckily the Officer gave me time to pay, and consequently I worked every hour that God sent, but still couldn't keep up w with the repayments. I used to go to a neighbors’ house and cry. One day she asked "you believe in God, don't you?” "Yes," I replied, "most Gypsies do". She gave me a copy of "Footprints" , a story of where Jesus carried a man in trouble. That night, I prayed: .'God, take care of my children and m5 out of 6 found this valuable. Do you find this valuable? |
| rackli1 rackli1 | RE: Joe's Testimony Part 2 In the next 6 months, I was divorced, my debts were under control, and I met Cathay, my new wife. She told me about being “born again"(John 3 v 1-10) I married Cathay, gave my heart to Jesus, and was “born again”. God miraculously paid my debts, and we now own a lovely home, are comfortably well off, and 4 of our children are born again. Jesus has turned my life around. I have peace of mind, I know I’m saved, I have eternal life, and that I’m rich in Him. I'm e full time evangelist, and He provides for all my needs. Give Him the glory! If you would like to give your heart to Jesus, It's simple! Just pray aloud the prayer below. Jesus Christ is Lord. Lord, have mercy of me, me a sinner as I repent of my ways and turn to you. I believe you died to save me. I open the door to my heart and invite You in to bemy Lord and Saviour. l believe you are the Son of God and alive today. I close the door to my heart with you, Lord Jesus, inside me. In the name of Jesus, I rebuke the devil and all his dominion, and in the name of Jesus l rebuke all false doctrines. l commit myself to You and Your will for my life from this day on. Glory to God in Jesus' name. Amen |
