http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ly9lsRDypRU Exodus 17:12 …… When Moses' hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up—one on one side, one on the other—so that his hands remained steady till sunset.Aaron and Hur climbed the hill to support Moses – literally. Moses carried a powerful anointing but he was now over eighty years old and his strength was waning.
When he stood with his arms raised all went well in the battle. When he maintained a posture of worship and praise the Lord gave the Israelites favour but when he began to grow weary and his posture looked downcast, the battle went against them.
Recognising this, Aaron and Hur helped Moses to get his posture right before God and the Israelites won the battle.
We all need people to support us; to get along side us and lift up our arms with words of encouragement, prayer, praise or simply to lend a hand.
Look around you, people are worn-out and tired. Get close to them and help them to overcome their enemy and win their battle by any means.
Together we can do what we could never accomplish on our ownLord Jesus, thank you that you send people to help us. Amenvideo:

Lord, if it's you," Peter replied, "tell me to come to you on the water." "Come," he said.As I have said before, the place of revelation is outside of our own understanding. In the boat, Peter and the others fully understood what was going on around them. Yet when Jesus bade Peter to step into what he knew was certain death, He was prepared to forfeit what he knew, even if it meant death, to obey Jesus.
The traditional church needs risk-taking pioneers like Peter. We may upset the status quo; we may rock the boat, but without being prepared to let go of what we know we will remain in a sinking ship.
Like Peter in the boat, the Lord is beckoning us to ‘come’
Among those who are sensitive to the leading of the Lord, I sense very clearly your desire to do only what God shows you and this is good, but I also sense a slight over-caution, even fear, to respond in faith to what you hear God say.
Yes, it is good to err on the side of caution but there is always an element of risk when we live by faith and I believe that God will honour our risk if it is a ‘righteous risk’ based on what revelation we have.
Peter didn’t have much to go on when he stepped out of the boat – just one word; “come” but Jesus honoured his ‘righteous faith’, met him where he was at, pulled him out of his fear-filled circumstances and accompanied him into the next opportunity for a miracle where everyone around him had the revelation that Jesus was the Son of God……
The boat that Peter left had come through a storm. It may well have been broken and bruised but it had survived and the people in it were changed forever.
Lord Jesus, here we come. Amenvideo:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOA00D7PieU Matthew 28:18-20 ……. Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."There is much more to going on a mission than spending two or three weeks in a foreign country. It takes at least two months to plan and prepare for each mission and many months and years to follow-up and consolidate it.
As The Way Christian Ministries in the early days we, Nancy, Israel and I, spent over three years as missionaries in our own country of Scotland and then eight years as missionaries in my home city of Glasgow where the church I pastored was like a mission station ministering to the needs of inner-city families. In 2005, the Lord released me to go into all the world to fulfil the Great Commission in an attempt to make disciples of all nations.
Over the years, we have prepared a holistic Christian discipleship course called;
Training for Life (TFL). The feeder into this course is the Gist (that you are reading now), each week it will be read, heard or watched by an estimated 50,000 people in 36 countries in 12 different languages – praise God.
Many of these will go on to do our ‘
Foundations’ course. Currently we have in excess 5,000 people gathering in a global network of Home Churches participating in this course in one of seven different languages. Many of them will go on to do the full TFL course that can last up to three years laying down Christian principles that will last for the rest of their life.
We are currently planning our missions schedule for 2009 – maybe you would like to
come with us or
make a donation towards a mission? Are you obeying the mandate of Jesus Christ; are you fulfilling the Great Commission?
Lord Jesus, equip us and send us to the mission field of your choice. Amenvideo:
